The 56th William J. Holloway Infectious Disease Symposium continues the legacy of this prestigious conference. This year’s faculty will address both global topics making an impact on our world today as well as the local concerns of our busiest clinical colleagues. Presentations will include lessons learned in the global fight to eradicate polio, new epidemiological trends in HIV transmission, an update in histoplasmosis and other endemic mycoses, an update on infections in implantable cardiac devices, and a guide to understanding the classic differential, fever and rash.

The Visiting Professor Conference will host Dr. Paul S. Pottinger, Associate Professor of Medicine Division of Allergy & Infectious Diseases, Associate Director, Infectious Diseases Training Program, Director, UWMC Antimicrobial Stewardship Program, Head, UWMC General ID Section, Director, UWMC Tropical Medicine & Infectious Disease Clinic, University of Washington Medical Center, Seattle, WA


This learning activity is designed for primary physicians, infectious disease specialists, hospitalists, infection control specialists, pharmacists, microbiologists, and other paramedical personnel.


  • CCHS Medical-Dental Staff: $55 in advance; $75 day of registration (if seating is available)
  • Non-Christiana Care registration: $75; $95 day of registration (if seating is available)
  • Emeritus physicians – $35
  • Full-time students: $20
  • CCHS residents & fellows: No charge to attend, but pre-registration is required.
