Dr. Anita L. Tucker is the Dean’s Research Scholar and an Associate Professor at the Questrom School of Business at Boston University. Prior to joining Boston University, Dr. Tucker taught at The Wharton School, Harvard Business School and Brandeis International Business School.
Dr. Tucker investigates how service process design impacts quality and efficiency and specializes in the study of delivery processes in hospitals. Her research finds that a lack of internal integration results in a culture of workarounds that waste significant staff time. She leverages principles from operations management to help hospitals decrease workarounds and create an improvement-oriented culture.
Her research has won numerous awards including an Outstanding Dissertation Award from AcademyHealth, a Sloan Research Fellowship, a best paper award from California Management Review and seven best paper proceedings awards from the Academy of Management.
