    The Christiana Care Aphasia Education Group is a support group for patients/families who have been affected by aphasia. Aphasia is an acquired language disorder that can happen most commonly as a result of stroke or brain injury. Meetings are divided into time for topics associated with aphasia, and time for people to practice communicating with each other. The group is run by a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist.

    Mended Hearts helps people understand that there can be a rich, rewarding life after heart disease diagnosis. Members of Mended Hearts meet monthly and visit patients and their families who have had open-heart surgery or stent placements. Members offer peer-to-peer support. They listen, share their experiences and volunteer to talk to other heart patients about what they may face including: lifestyle changes, depression, recovery and treatment. *Mended Hearts will not meet in February or July.
